Since April 1st, Mr. Wolfgang Hampel has joined FUGRO CONSULT GMBH. Wolfgang is a professional minerals exploration geologist working in the industry since 14 years. In 1992, after he graduated from Technical University of Munich, he went as a junior consultant with a German company to the Republic of Niger to conduct a major gold exploration survey in Archean greenstones. In the 10 years following, he stayed in West Africa with mining and consulting companies conducting mineral exploration surveys and evaluating various projects. In 2002, he joined the Africa Section of the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), the German Geological Survey. Early in 2004 he became Deputy Head of the Africa Section. 

His country experience outside Europe comprises Niger, Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea, Ghana, Chad, South Africa, Madagascar and North Korea. His commodity experience reaches amongst others from gold to platinum group elements, to base metals (copper, zinc), rare metals (niobium, tantalum), titanium (ilmenite), andalusite, fluorite and to coloured gemstones.
