FUGRO's environmental services are aimed at assisting our clients in gaining good insight in environmental aspects of their projects, thus reducing the clients' risks and liabilities. The scope of activities ranges from baseline data collection and site assessments to management of the overall performance of small to large scale development projects (technical, financial, quality), including the preparation of application documents for consent procedures of nearly all project types. Environmental management and consultancy

  • consultancy on environmental aspects of infrastructure development projects,
  • management of consent procedures and all stages of Environmental Impact Assessment,
  • evaluation and selection of alternative alignments for roads, railways, pipelines, aerial lines and river embankments,
  • consultations and negotiations with local and governmental authorities,
  • environmental expert on public hearings presenting results and recommendations.

Environmental expert opinions

  • environmental contribution to feasibility studies,
  • reviews of relevant legal and administrative environmental framework,
  • Environmental Impact Assessment Studies (EIS) for nearly all project types including screening- and scoping reports,
  • compatibility Assessment Studies based on the Flora-Fauna-Habitat- and the Wild Birds Directive of the European Union,
  • waiver applications for endangered habitats, animal and plant species,
  • preparation of Regional Environmental Reviews (RER).

Environmental planning

  • planning of measures to prevent, mitigate and compensate adverse effects,
  • reclamation of affected areas, renaturation and recultivation (i. e. reforestation),
  • preparation of Environmental Management Plans (EMP),
  • design of environmental monitoring programs.
